Tabula Rasa Dance theater plays a fundamental role in raising awareness in multiple communities.
We have charged 63 cents for performances in professional venues so that low-income individuals can have access to dance. Sixty three cents is the average hourly minimum wage of incarcerated individuals in New York State.
Tabula Rasa Dance Theater has done outreach to formerly incarcerated individuals who are now in city re-entry programs, such as GoSo, and will continue to do so.
Through non profits that help immigrants navigate the legal system in New York, such as the New York Immigration Coalition and New Sanctuary Coalition, we will give access to dance to immigrants regardless of their immigration status.
